What we learned at our first live event and why DL AgTech 2027 is going to be even better.

As a startup company we have a lot going on: new partners, new customers, new employees, and of course, new tech. Bringing it all together was the goal of our first in-person event, DL AgTech 2026, and we were thrilled with the results. We also learned a few things that will make the 2027 version even better.

Lessons Learned
Don't schedule it during a blizzard. The morning of the event, we woke up to high winds and a layer of ice covering everything, including every road within 100 miles. March in Minnesota, it happens, but it made travel difficult so we're going to skip that in 2027, hopefully!
Keep it small. We had about 40 people coming this year and got around 20 due to the blizzard. As it turns out, that was the perfect audience size; large enough to meet new people but small enough to feel like a get together vs. a conference. So the plan for 2027 is to keep it small and aim for about 20 attendees.
More tech. More hands-on. Maybe we take it for granted how cool ag drones and other tech can be, because the most common feedback we heard this year is to spend more hands-on time with our products. Lesson learned, and we're going big in 2027 with the latest from Hylio, Sound Agriculture, Earth Optics, True Grit Agronomy on-site and more.
Don't move. Our venue The Lodge on Lake Detroit is really perfect. Great rooms. Great staff. Perfect size and location. Detroit Lakes could use more farmland but it's a great place to spend a few hours, or a few days. We're already booked for March 12, 2027 and can't wait to be back.

The Biggest Lesson: We're Surrounded By Great People
From our employees to our customers and industry partners, we are very lucky to be have the support of awesome people. New technology is great but people make the difference. Always have, always will.
