This is big.
Through the Biofertilizer Innovation and Efficiency Pilot Program, the State of Minnesota is now offering up to $15 per acre for improving your nitrogen efficiency. This is a pilot program with applications due by May 1 and funding on a first-come, first-serve basis.
This program is right in our wheelhouse because we move quickly and can handle most of the technical requirements, so you can capture the incentive without the typical state-program headache.
How to Qualify
To be eligible for the $15/acre payment, you must:
Be a MN Resident operating farmland in one of 32 qualifying counties (including Becker, Otter Tail, Hubbard, Wadena, and 28 more - see full list below).
Enroll between 40 and 3,000 acres.
Apply by May 1, 2026 (funds may be exhausted before then).
Reduce Nitrogen Use: Document a reduction in commercial nitrogen by the lesser of 15% or 30 lbs per acre by utilizing a qualifying biofertilizer.
How We Can Handle the Heavy Lifting
Reducing nitrogen by 15% can feel like a logistical hurdle and a yield risk. We provide the expertise, tools, and manpower to manage the entire process for you:
Step 1: Strategic Planning We start by identifying the best acres for the program. Using high-definition soil mapping, we pinpoint where your soil already has the highest potential to thrive with reduced synthetic inputs. We build the plan so you don't have to guess.
Step 2: Precision Application The program requires the use of a qualifying biofertilizer to offset the reduced nitrogen. We can provide this, and/or handle the application process using our precision drones. This ensures the biofertilizers are delivered at the right time to mobilize tied-up nutrients in your soil profile, all with zero soil compaction and no extra time required of you.
Step 3: Seamless Reporting & Documentation The biggest barrier to state programs is often the paperwork. We provide the data and documentation you need to prove your nitrogen reduction and biofertilizer use. We make the "after-action" reporting simple so you can collect your incentive without a lot of headache.
The Bottom Line: Win-Win
The $15/acre incentive is a great, but the bigger benefit may be the opportunity to modernize your nutrient strategy with zero added stress. We handle the technical planning, field operations, and documentation needed to capture this incentive while protecting your yields.
Now is the time to act. With the application window closing soon (May 1) and funds being limited, waiting could mean missing out. It starts with a simple conversation.
